SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

 

Guidelines to Authors

The Commercial Law Department carrying the promotion of research and broadly defunding its academic work; has leader this editorial effort according to the needs of a global and information society. The Research Group “Derecho Comercial Colombiano y Comparado” has been involved working on the information sources and getting advantage of new technologic media on the academic activity of external participants, as well as professors and students.

Revista@ E-Mercatoria is an academic, scientific and open publication in an electronic format. The journal deals with the most topical issues of commercial law.

The first edition was published in June 2002; it is published twice a year (January to June and July to December) and publishes works of national and foreign researchers. This publication is for all students, researchers and professionals. Its aim is to promote research on major issues of commercial law, including: company law, corporate insolvency, commercial contracts, international trade law, intellectual property, e-commerce, maritime law, competition law and consumer law.

The articles published in the journal are sent on electronic media to different databases and indexing systems for the dissemination of its contents. The articles are available on the website: [www.emercatoria.edu.co], and in the following databases: Colciencias Latindex-EBSCO Academic Source, Cengage Learning, Class, SSRN, Dialnet and Open Journal System

Articles Review

Revist@ E-Mercatoria is committed to meet and raise the general standards of academic quality. For this reason, prior to publication, all articles will undergo a rigorous evaluation process.

The selection and publication do not depend on the theoretical position, point of view or methodology implemented. Only the quality, rigor, and the implicit rules of all scholarly work are considered. The appropriate use of uniform referencing system; especially the use of those sources that fit into the following categories: Art of reflection; paper of scientific research and review article.*

The evaluation process begins when the publisher coordinator receives the works. It is primarily a process of feedback and constructive criticism. This is ahead by at least two anonymous referees of the most recognized academic qualifications, and takes three months or so. Then, the journal informs to the author's decisions and comments of the examiners; who may suggest not publishing the text, publish, or publish including some proposed changes. In the last event, if appropriate the author include the suggested corrections; and the Editorial Committee issues the final decision on publication of articles. The decision will be communicated to the email provided by the author

The publication language is Spanish, but can include text in other languages. Articles and any other correspondence should be sent to David Ricardo Mujica Underhill, theCalle 12 No. 1-17 Este, of. General Requirements

The works should be sent in electronic media, .doc (Word format), single-spaced and in Times New Roman size 12. Articles should not exceed 12,000 words or so. The title of the document should appear in Spanish and English by the author's name should put a footnote on page with a summary of your CV, institutional affiliation, country of origin and contact email.

Please attach an abstract of 200 words in Spanish and English, with their respective keywords and the author's resume and contact information.

Papers must be unpublished. By submitting your work in electronic media, the author must clearly state: 1. If he agrees with the editorial policy of Revist@ E-Mercatoria, 2. To confirm the work is unpublished submitted and 3. The article is not being evaluated by any other journal or publishing bodies.

The copyright in all contributions that are accepted for publication remains with the authors and the publishers acquire only the right of publication. Authors are free to re-use their own material. However, if the whole or any part of published material is reproduced elsewhere, the author must recognize Revist@ E-Mercatoria as the original place of publication.
The author agrees to the Revist@ E-Mercatoria not only the publication of the article submitted for evaluation in its website; but its use and inclusion in national and international databases.
Similarly, the Journal assumes no responsibility for any possible violations of rights of any third party for the material provided by contributors or participants.


Referencing system and bibliography

Revist@ E-Mercatoria uses an adaptation of the Chicago Manual of Style, in its 15th edition, Humanities Style version. The following two abbreviations were used that allow to see the differences between the citation in the notes to footnotes (N) and bibliography (B):

Note: At the end of the article should settle the literature, written in Times New Roman size 11. Titles should be in alphabetical order and this should include full references for all works used in the article.
